About the DUCKS

During the early days of World War ll, the allies were faced with a tough tactical problem: how could they unload cargo and men from their ships in places where the dock facilities had been destroyed or simply did not exist? The answer was to unload cargo directly over the beach. But how?

The demands of war, along with technical know-how and old fashioned Yankee ingenuity combined to create the perfect solution: A vehicle that was half boat and half truck, that could run on land and water. Code-named DUKW (see where we get the name?), the first "DUCK" was actually a GMC truck enclosed in a water-tight shell.

It wasn't long before DUKWs were playing a crucial role in the allied invasions in Sicily, the Pacific, and the biggest invasion of all, D-Day. In fact, more than 40% of all over-beach supplies in Normandy were transported by DUKWs during the first four months. So today, you're not only having the ride of your life, you're riding on a proud part of American history.

Tours depart rain or shine, 7 days a week.

Tours begin at 9:00am and the last tour leaves an hour before sunset. Tours leave every 30 or 60 minutes, depending upon the season.

GROUP TICKETS: For groups of 20 or more special arrangements will be made for a departure time and departure location. Please indicate your preferred departure time and an alternate time and date on this order form. Tours run from 9 AM until 1 hour before sunset 7 days a week.

DUCK ticket booths are located at the Prudential Center and the Museum of Science. We recommend checking in at the Museum of Science as the crowds are smaller than at the Prudential Center.

Group Tickets purchased online DO NOT guarantee you seats on the day you booked. Please indicate your preferred departure time and an alternate time in the notes section of order form. We will work to get you on the date and time requested. A specific departure date and time for groups will be confirmed after we recieve your order. Boarding and seating for your entire group are not guranteed on one Duck. This is not a private charter. We suggest you arrive at our departure location 30 minutes before your scheduled tour time, and boarding normally begins 15 minutes prior to tour departure time. If you forget your printed voucher you will be require to purchase additional tickets on site. So don't forget your voucher !

Confirmation & Travel Voucher

For every confirmed booking you will receive an e-mail with a link to your E-Ticket Voucher. Print vouchers on your home/ office printer. Please follow instructions on voucher to confirm your DUCK Tour departure time. Present the E-Ticket voucher at the Box Office. Only one voucher will be created per tour or activity for all travelers. If you forget your printed voucher you will be require to purchase additional tickets on site. So don't forget your voucher !

Group Rate Tickets purchased online DO NOT guarantee you seats on the day you booked until you receive a confirmation from Boston DUCK Tours.

Cancellation and No Show Policy

Once purchased tickets cannot be canceled. No refunds are available. No Shows on tour dates are charged 100%.

If you forget your printed voucher you will be require to purchase additional tickets on site. This ticket will not be refunded. So don't forget your voucher !
